Reiki is a Japanese word meaning “universal life force; and it is a gentle, nonmanipulative method of the laying on of hands.   It is not a religion and does not depend upon one's belief. It also works on plants and animals.  Reiki heals each person according to their specific need and works on all levels: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.  Reiki Master Sylvia Newell Lagergren teaches Traditional Reiki, as taught to her by Masters Dorris Denby and Jocelyn Graef, who were students of Grand Master Hawayo Takata.  

Certification classes are offered each month in 1st degree Reiki.  The fee is $150.  An application form is provided below.  Classes for 2nd and 3rd degree Reiki students are offered as needed.

Sylvia has seen many cases of healing with Reiki, and references may be obtained from the many people who have benefited.  Her commitment in teaching is to pass on, unchanged, the pure form of this perfect system of healing.  Sylvia has a weekly open house/clinic on Monday evenings that has benefitted many people locally and from whom references may be obtained.  Her commitment is to pass on, unchanged, the pure form of this perfect system of healing.

One needs no special gifts to channel this life force which is so simple that even children can do it.  All that is necessary to practice Reiki is to be initiated by a Reiki Master and learn the proper hand placements.
